# Mark an event and find it later

# Mark an event and find it later

Name a moment in recorded data, such as a sample taken or an anomaly. You and
your team can jump back to it in one click.

## Before you start

- Phloem Computer, with recorded data on **Replay**. See [Replay](https://phloem.ai/docs/review/replay/).

## Steps

1. Open **Replay** and move the playhead to the moment. To mark a stretch of
time, Shift-drag across the scrubber instead. The form opens; skip to step 3.
2. Press **tag** beside the clock.
3. Type a name in **tag name**, such as `sample-taken`. The form shows what it
marks: `at` the playhead, or the dragged range.
4. Press **Save** or Enter. The status row reads *tag saved — appears when it
   lands*.

To find it later:

5. On the time control, pick a range that covers the moment.
6. In the left panel, open the **tags** tab and type part of the name in
   **Filter tags**.
7. Click the row. The playhead jumps to the mark, and the window moves if
   needed.

## Check it worked

- A ● appears on the scrubber at the moment. A range shows as an underline.
The **tags** tab and the **tags** button count it.
- **[** and **]** jump to the previous and next mark.
- In the **tags** drawer, click a name's eye to hide its marks. **show all**
  brings them back.

> **Note:** A mark appears once it reaches the cloud, so a short delay is
> normal. Names starting `sys.` are reserved and are refused.
