# Stop conditions

A live bound that **stops the test** the moment it fails. Every output goes to
its safe value, and the test stays stopped until you **Reset**.

Checked every tick. Crossing a `hihi` or `lolo` limit stops the test; there is no
severity setting. For a warning that stops nothing, use an
[alert](https://phloem.ai/docs/trellis/alerts/). To make only *some* outputs safe, use an
[interlock](https://phloem.ai/docs/trellis/interlocks/).
