Products, part numbers and bills of materials from Odoo

- The Phloem cloud — nothing to install
Puts your Odoo products, part numbers and bills of materials in Trace, so Hamming can cite the part and BOM a unit was built to.
What Phloem reads
- Products — each product (not each variant) as a part: name, internal reference as part number, category and weight
- Bills of materials — each as an assembly: the product it builds, and every component with quantity and unit (needs the Manufacturing app)
- OdooPLM — if installed, the engineering code becomes the part number and the engineering revision the revision, and the engineering state is kept
Phloem never writes to Odoo.
What you need
- An Odoo database Phloem can reach over the internet.
- A login and an API key. Create the key in Odoo under Preferences → Account Security → New API Key (a password also works). Phloem reads what that user can read; it need not be an administrator.
- For bills of materials, a user allowed to read them. Without that, products still sync.
Connect
- In the console, open Connectors, choose Add connector, then Odoo.
- Enter Odoo URL (e.g.
https://acme.odoo.com), Database, Login and API key. - Save. The test shows the Odoo version and how many products it can see.
Notes
- Without OdooPLM, a part's revision is the time it was last edited in Odoo, not an engineering revision.
- An archived product or bill leaves Trace at the next sync. One deleted outright leaves at the next full sync.
- A weight of zero in Odoo counts as not entered.
- Keep in Trace and Sync now are on the connector's page.
