Read and write channels on a running VeriStand system

Work with a running NI VeriStand test stand. See what is deployed, and read or write channels on the live system: faults, setpoints, model inports, alarms.
What you get
- Test connection — shows the system state and which system definition is deployed.
- Channel read/write — by full channel path, such as
Aliases/EngineSpeedorTargets/Controller/Simulation Models/Models/Engine Demo/Outports/RPM. Each write is read back, so a clamped or rejected write shows its real value.
Setup
- Install the connector from the Connectors tab on the Windows machine that runs the VeriStand Gateway. Or install it on another Windows machine with VeriStand installed.
- Leave VeriStand Gateway as
localhostwhen the connector runs on the VeriStand host. Otherwise set the gateway machine's hostname. - Run Test connection with your project deployed.
Notes
- If VeriStand is not installed, the connector says so and points at the field to set for non-standard installs.
- A write acts on the running system, like typing into a workspace control. Take the same care.
